Many Federal Work Study students are still looking for on-campus jobs for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. All departments are encouraged to hire student employees through the federal work-study program, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. Students are being directed to apply for open positions through Handshake, UHart’s online internship and job platform.
Please have your student employment position descriptions emailed to career@qfyx100.com. Hiring managers can review applications online and then select students to interview. We ask that once positions are filled, postings be taken down to help students navigate open positions only.
A few additional federal work-study reminders:
- The 2023-24 pay rate for federal work-study as of today is $15 per hour.
- You can confirm a student is work-study eligible under the employee tab on self-service. Just click the “Validate Student” link. This will also show up the total amount a student can earn throughout the academic year. It is the supervisor's responsibility to monitor the student's hours worked/paid.
- Before a student can begin working, they must have an approved and applied Epaf which requires financial aid and HR approval.
- Students can begin working on the first day of class and must stop working on the last day of finals.
